I’m Alejandra a Spanish language guide for wine lovers and culturally curious travelers who want to experience the world — not just visit it.
Through my brand Sip & Speak, I help students move beyond phrasebooks and into presence:

🍷 My story begins in La Rioja…
In March 2022, I was touring vineyards and luxury estates across La Rioja and Ribera del Duero.
But something was different.
This time, I moved through the experience in my native Spanish — and suddenly, everything came into focus.
The scent of toasted oak.
The way the sommelier’s phrasing mirrored the wine’s body.
Even the way the sunlight touched the stone of the guesthouse felt… sharper.
I wasn’t just in the scene. I was of it.
That was my eureka moment.
🧭 I realized:
Language is what turns observation into participation.
And it’s what transforms travel into memory.
🌿 Since then…
I’ve walked through sun-warmed vines in Napa and Oregon, where the air carries hints of cedar and ripe plum.
I’ve stood beneath the vast skies of Barossa, the boldness of Shiraz echoed in every conversation.
I’ve wandered the misty valleys of New Zealand, where Sauvignon Blanc meets the sea breeze.
I’ve followed the old stones of Beaujolais and the rugged slopes of Northern Rhône, tasting Syrah that speaks in layers.
And always, I’ve returned to La Rioja and Ribera del Duero, where my story began — where Spanish is not just a language, but a landscape of meaning.
In every region, I’ve experienced curated hospitality, vineyard stays, and the quiet luxury that invites you to linger.
And what I’ve found is this:
Everything becomes more vivid — more human — when you can speak the language of the place.
My teaching is rooted in this movement —
in the people, the rituals, and the phrases that emerge when wine brings us together.

Spanish in a Heartbeat was my starting point — the place where I explored early ideas about language, emotion, and connection.
It was simple, honest, raw… and it reflected who I was as a teacher then.
Over time, my work grew deeper.
I began blending language with:

That evolution inspired the creation of Sip & Speak Spanish™ — a more soulful, embodied way to learn Spanish that mirrors how we connect in real life.
I carry deep gratitude for every wonderful student who has walked with me on this journey.
